FOOD FOR THOUGHT
December 28, 2023MY FAVOURITE GARMENT!
January 7, 2024So, once again it’s the time to embrace ‘Dry January’.
Every year, I attempt to do so but always end up giving in.
I admit, I do love a drink. It’s not that I go overboard. One glass of wine with a meal. Maybe a cocktail if it’s a special occasion. I eat really healthfully, practise 10 hours of exercise a week, look after my mental well being, and feel very happy most of the time. A balance I’ve aimed for since I turned 50. Well over a decade ago now.
However, after 2 or 3 nights of sparkling water with a slice of lime to give it pzazz, I just give in. One glass of wine is just so blissful. I sleep like a log, wake up refreshed and raring to go. No hangovers. No need to finish the bottle. Just pleasantly soothing, tasty and joyful.
Last year I realised that the wine represented something special in my life. Something that gave me the satisfied feeling that other drinks did not. Pondering over this word, it came to me that feeling satisfied is something that I wanted to feel all the time. In fact, I loved it so much that I adopted it as my new word for 2023. I have not once regretted that choice. Looking back over the last 12 months I see that my life has been rich, rewarding and adventurous yet also peaceful, nourishing and calm. The reason it has been so is because every decision I made was governed by the level of satisfaction I would feel once making it.
So, our Coffee and Conversation this month with dwell on this topic – How do you want to FEEL throughout 2024?
